Since 2005, I have developed and implemented LEAN New Product Introduction (NPI) processes combined with Six Sigma. The focus has been on improving quality and reducing time-to-market.
Through this work I have led the development of detailed IT solutions to support the NPI and to bridge the gap between R&D and Operations.
My competencies range from Strategic Innovation Management, Product Life-cycle Management (PLM), and process and system design to detailed information structures.
Based on hands-on experience from Shop Floor, as well as from R&D and executive level, I’ve acquired a holistic view and understanding of business value chains. This was further developed by an MBA (Henley), which led the establishment of BoostPLM in 2015, where I’m a co-founder and Managing Director.
I am fluent in Danish and English.
Cases & Projects
Product Configuration setup across Windchill and SAP (Tetra Pak)
Tetra Pak is focusing on modular design and customised solutions through configuration. I am supporting Tetra Pak’s business and IT on integrate product configuration across the product design in Windchill and the supply execution in SAP.
The work is focused on establishing an unbroken digital thread across the products entire life cycle.
Material Search & Classification Project (Tetra Pak, 2016-2017)
Tetra Pak requested a more standardised portfolio of components in their products through better classification of materials.
I facilitated the evaluation and selection of a classification standard and system before the facilitation of the implementation was handed over to my colleague Peter á Porta.
The solution was based on UNSPSC og GS1 with attributes and was technically implemented in SAP.
The performance of the search in the customer’s SAP system was technically optimised by my colleague Kim Hald.
Windchill-SAP BOM Interface (Vestas)
The customer needed a light-weight and robust interface for transferring BOMs from Windchill to SAP.
I designed the concept and directed a team of developers that in three months developed a customer specific interface. The interface dramatically improved the quality of BOM’s in SAP and has during operation transferred more than 100.000 BOMs with almost 1000.000 BOM lines.
Supply Chain Configurator in SAP (Vestas)
The production of customer specific Tower Sections are to a large extent subcontracted to multiple regional suppliers, that have different capabilities. This required that each order had a master data for the suply (materials, BOM and routing) – laborintense work.
I designed the concept of a supply chain configurator that based on the supplier’s cababilities and the classification of materials automatically sets manage subcontracting BOM and routings.
The solution was build in SAP by my collegue Kim Hald and is today saving a lot of work, mitigating errors in master data as well as reducing the process time of master data by about two weeks per order.
Roadmap for Digital Thread (Nilfisk)
As part of the ambition of becoming first mover on autonomous floor scrubbers the client wanted a roadmap for a digital twin and digital thread of installed equipments and service.
The roadmap was based on technologies like Windchill, SAP and ThingWorx.
Document Management System (Vestas)
I was chief architect and project manager of a team of business and IT specialist that implemented a Document Management System for technical specifications like design documents, drawings and work instructions.
The system is based on SAP DMS, including the SAP TREX indexing engine and a Windows plugin (SAP DMS). The SAP configuration and customisation was made by my collegue Kim Hald.
The system had from day one 3.000 trained users and +100.000 migrated and categorised documents.
Bill of Installed Components (Tetra Pak)
Tetra Pak has large number of installed equipments that are frequently serviced and upgraded by kitsets.
The R&D requested a solution to support the development of additional sellable options for the installed based. This included the need for a customer specific As-Maintained BOM and the ability to compare a portfolio of installed machines.
BoostPLM made a proof of concept, which is now (2021) beeing used as foundation for a full implemented solution in Tetra Pak.
I designed the concept and my collegues Kim Hald and Zeljko Ratkaj built the technical solution.
